April 2016-a very busy month for everyone at St. Brigid's .

April 2016 has proved to be a very busy month for the staff and pupils. The Primary 3-5 pupils began a six week paired reading programme with their parents. The Code club and Cookery clubs are currently proving to be a great success with full attendance on a weekly basis.

Congratulations to Caolan Devlin, Ethan Donaghy and Oisin Kelly, our Primary seven pupils, who were confirmed in The Christ the King Church on Sunday 17th April.

Congratulations to all those pupils who participated in the Omagh Feis -Art Competition. Our entries were amazing! We had a number of event winners, an overall winner of the KS1 shield, pupils placed second and numerous pupils received Certificates for being Highly Commended by the adjudicator.

Congratulations especially to Anna -Rose Ballantine  P1 winner of the Shield, Colleen Mc Philomeny P3, Aaron Kelly P6, Dearbhla Kelly P6 and Aoife Flannagan P3.

The whole school went on a trip to Derry City to enhance the  educational  topics the pupils had been studying in Foundation stage, KS1 and KS2 since January. The pupils visited the "Brick Wonders" exhibition and Lego building workshop in the Nerve Centre, then went to view the historic Derry Walls to see the canons, a coach trip around Derry to see the sights such as the three bridges, the Guildhall, the Diamond, Celtic Park and The Brandywell Stadium and finally went for lunch together in a Café, followed by  an hours play activity in the soft play area (P1-4) and a game of bowls .(P5-7). A fantastic day was had by everyone in sunny Derry that day. Thanks to the PTA, who contributed toward the fantastic trip for all pupils.

On April 26th speech therapist Sarah Mc Elholm visited the school to meet parents and to hold rhyming lessons with the pupils. Another fabulous learning experience was had by all.
