Celebration of 60 Years of Education at St. Brigid's Mountfield

26th Jun 2018

On Thursday the 21st of June we celebrated 60 Years of Education at St. Brigid's PS Mountfield. A 60th anniversary is a special occasion to celebrate. For the first pupils who entered St. Brigid’s 60 years ago, there have been many changes in the world. From black and white TVs to Smart TVs, landline telephones to mobile telephones, chalk boards to interactive whiteboards, walking to school for miles to school buses, amongst many other changes. However, for our pupils today they share an invisible tie with all the pupils of the past 60 years and indeed those who will follow them. They are part of a school community which has nurtured all its pupils. St Brigid’s is very much a family school that has served the Mountfield community for many years. Our school is well known for its warm, friendly and inclusive ethos, its commitment to high academic standards and for creating active learning partnerships between home and school. The children are at the centre of everything that we do in St Brigid’s. Our whole school community shares one common goal – to do the very best for all children in our care. St. Brigid’s pupils can be seen in all walks of life, engaging in many fields and professions and make significant contributions to our society, not just in Mountfield, but also in other parts of the world.

Our school motto is ‘Be The Best You Can Be’, it is my belief that greater things are always on the horizon and that success is not an end point. We are at our best when we are striving for something better.

We hoped everyone enjoyed the exhibition and thank everyone our attended from near and far.
