Recently our KS2 children recreated Irish art work and presented a musical performance on the tin whistle exhibiting our Irish culture in the Strule Arts Centre Omagh. Today we continued with the development of recognising other cultures with a visit from the Yalla Centre.
The aim of our activities today was to embrace diversity, learn new things and enjoy the beauty in everything in the world around us. The ladies from the YALLA Centre shared an introduction to the Arabic culture and language. There was also a calligraphy workshop, storytelling and crafts around the theme of Ramadan (fasting month).
The children thoroughly enjoyed all activities and have a greater understanding of our culturally diverse society.
